Day 01 :
Tarangire Simba Lodge, Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park, situated within Tanzania’s spectacular Manyara Region, is an awe-inspiring national park comprising of granite ridges, river valleys, mixed vegetative landscapes, and free-roaming wildlife. During the annual dry season, the Tarangire River is a magnet for thirsty wildlife. Large herds of elephants and migratory wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, impala, gazelle, hartebeest and eland gather and not surprisingly the predators follow. With lion being among the most commonly spotted animal, it is a rare day that a visitor does not spot this majestic animal prowling or grazing. Tarangire is also the one place in Tanzania where dry-country antelope such as oryx and gerenuk are seen regularly. This expansive area is also known for its spectacular baobab trees, its breathtaking views of the Masaai Steppe and the wondrous mountains to the south.

Overnight: Tarangire Simba Lodge

Tarangire Simba Lodge is located near the Sangaiwe Gate of Tarangire National Park, offering views of Lake Burunge. Nearby attractions include the wildlife-rich Tarangire National Park and a Wildlife Management Area. The lodge features classic tents with outdoor showers, wooden floors, and private decks. Dining options include a restaurant serving continental cuisine with fresh local ingredients. Leisure facilities include a swimming pool with a sundeck and an elevated platform for wildlife viewing or dining.

Classic Canvas Safari Tent under Thatch

Accommodation is in spacious classic canvas safari tents constructed on platforms with wooden floors. Tents are en-suite with attached dressing room, toilet and shower. Additionally there is an outdoor shower and each tent has a private veranda with views to the bush. The entire structure is under a permanent roof topped with thatch. Furnishings are handcrafted from African hardwood complimented with tastefully selected fabrics. Twin, queen and family tents are available; electricity and hot water are solar powered. Opened in 2017  - Nyikani Camp Tarangire is located in Tarangire National Park. The camp's design has a termite mound theme with organic features and structures found throughout the campsite. Enjoy gourmet Swahili cuisine from our highly trained chefs!

A 45-minute drive from the main gate, this camp is located in a less crowded area of the park with excellent access to the river, swamp and other regions. Nyikani Camp Tarangire offers an extraordinarily comfortable and intimate atmosphere in the middle of Tanzania's wilderness!

Mbali Mbali Tarangire River Camp is set within 25,000 hectares of concession area, included on the land is a branch of the Tarangire River itself, which the camp overlooks. The property is in a great location for game viewing since it is only 3.5km from the main entrance to Tarangire National Park.

Traditional grass thatching adorns the roof of the main lodge structure, which is set off the ground on an elevated deck. The breezy lounge boasts ample seating in a relaxing open-air environment. The dining area, where culturally inspiring meals are served, consists of simple safari style seating and the elevated position allows for excellent views over the riverbank below. Both the dining and lounge areas are married into a proper bon-fire area and game viewing deck that also overlook the same stunning views. The lodge’s small, informal gift shop offers the families of the nearby Maasai villages a chance to sell some of their handmade wares.

Day 3: Lake Natron Halisi Camp, Lake Natron

Lake Natron

Situated in the East African country of Tanzania, Lake Natron is fed by mineral-rich hot springs and is less than three meters deep. High levels of evaporation leave loads of salt and minerals behind, the volcanic carbonate colours the water a striking red and the temperature can reach up to 50 degrees Celsius. All of which makes it a perfect breeding ground for the endangered Lesser Flamingo; however, it is known as the deadliest lake in the country, the high sodium carbonate level in the water is known to calcify and petrify wildlife who get too close. Visitors can climb the Ol Doinyo L'Engai, an active volcano; explore the surrounding terrain, including rugged mountains, grassy plains, and gorges; and spot a variety of wildlife.

Overnight: Lake Natron Halisi Camp

Lake Natron Halisi Camp, located on a 9-acre concession south of Lake Natron and the village of Engaresero, offers incredible views of Oldoinyo Lengai and the Rift Valley Escarpment. Guests can enjoy sweeping vistas across the lake and Oldoinyo Lengai with a sundowner, experiencing a bush setting far from the village and other camps. The land belongs to the village of Engaresero, ensuring that every guest contributes to the community’s development and wellbeing. Day 05 :
Karatu Simba Lodge, Karatu

Presided over by the towering Ol Deani Volcano, this small, colourful town serves as a popular overnight stop for visitors exploring the area’s many game parks. The town offers a variety of activities including browsing the bustling marketplace, sampling beer at a local brewery, visiting a traditional homestead, or taking a guided walk through the Ngorongoro Forest in search of waterfalls and caves. Whether you are looking for cultural tours, hiking and biking opportunities, a chance to enjoy an authentic rural Tanzania experience, or simply a break between safari game drives, this underrated town has plenty to offer.

Overnight: Karatu Simba Lodge

Karatu Simba Lodge offers a slice of life only to be found in rural Tanzania. Located about a thirty-minute drive from the gate of Lake Manyara National Park, approximately four kilometres off the main road to the entry of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, the lodge is situated next to the Ngorongoro Forest. Accommodation is in individual twin, double or triple cottages or rondavels with canvas walls and solid attached bathroom and shower, tastefully and simply decorated with hand made furniture of African hardwood. Each unit has its own deck with safari chairs for relaxing and viewing the pastoral setting. Guests can enjoy free Wi-Fi in the common areas, an evening campfire and pool with views onto the forest. The lodge is eco-friendly with solar power and hot water and there is a well stocked bar and dining room serving food and coffee fresh from nearby plantations.
